Man attacked by mob in Dena in Vadodara

VADODARA: Dena resident Imtiyaz Akbar Chauhan filed a complaint of physical assault at the Vadodara taluka police station against 21 other residents of Dena. According to the complaint filed by Chauhan, he was beaten up by the mob late on Friday night.
The complainant accused Ahmed Kasam Qureshi, Mohammad Hanif Qureshi, Wahid Pathan, Kasam Karim Chauhan, Mausan Kalubhai, Chirag Qureshi, Dilwar Qureshi, Imtiyaz Qureshi, Majid Qureshi, Iliyas Qureshi, Ramju Diwan and Yasin Diwan along with 11 other unidentified persons in his report.
Chauhan told the police that the accused approached him when he was on his way back home and cornered him near the cemetery of the village. The mob alleged that Chauhan had broken a tomb at the cemetery. Chauhan reported that the mob had first pelted stones at him and caught him unware.
The mob abused him and then attacked him with iron pipes and wooden sticks, according to the complaint filed at the police station. According to Chauhan some of the people in the mob were also carrying swords.
Chauhan alleged that the accused had been harassing him for quite some time. In his statement to the police, he said that the attack on him was a planned one.
